Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home which has a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house profits won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or website plan to study in a public university or TVET college my nsfas in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the here public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
